(A reflection on Jn 20:11-18)
As she wept at His tomb, Mary of Magdela encountered Jesus but didn’t recognize Him until He spoke to her compassionately, saying, “Mary, stop holding on to Me”. Then, obeying her teacher, Mary told the disciples with pure joy, “I have seen the Lord!”
I can’t see Jesus face to face in this life. But, I know He’s present every moment of my day. He sends His love to me through Holy Scripture and through my wife, children, friends and many of life’s circumstances. I need to better recognize Him and live such that others may recognize Him in me.
“Lord Jesus, today I resolve to recognize the kindness of others as Your love poured out through them. And, I resolve to be the instrument through whom your love and mercy may touch others. Amen.”

A great Lent is transforming into an even greater Easter season as we see Jesus with us in so many ways. He is missed in our reception of the Most Holy Eucharist but he continues to reveal Himself in so many other ways that we can be satisfied spiritually.

Thanks, Clay. Yes, I agree, and, it’s much easier to see Him present in our lives when we’re looking for Him.

Hey there my friend. Okay, when this crazy business is over and we can get together for lunch, you’ll have to elaborate and explain this a little bit. Good to hear from you and I hope we can see each other soon.

I have been going to mass on line every day since this virus has stop mass in our churches. I have been watching Father Satish who is with Immaculate Conception which is in Dayton Ohio. I truly enjoy how Father gives me a history lesson and the word of God all together. With today’s reading and gospel, it was so beautiful I just cried. Today has made me a stronger and more caring person. What a gift we can receive when we trust in our Lord. If you watch this on you tube maybe it will touch you also.

Penny, I’m so glad to hear that you’ve been participating in an on-line daily mass. I think mass is essential to keep one’s faith strong. I have not watched any of Fr. Satish’s masses but I’ve heard from others that his homilies are very good. I may have to check him out. Hang in there, this too shall pass, and God will bring about good things for those who trust in Him. God bless!

Norm, I’m going to have to think about how to respond to your comment. Nobody has ever said that before. Thank you. I guess that’s what I prayed for, isn’t it? But, I can’t take the credit. The Lord gives me the grace to be open to Him and the promptings of the Holy Spirit….and sometimes I realize that and do something with it. I wish I could be open 24/7/365 but I’m no where close to perfect. But, I thank you for your kindness which is, itself, an imitation of Christ’s love. I love you, brother!
